SEIKO progressive lenses
The premium technology for presbyopia
SEIKO has carved a special niche for itself for manufacturing the lightest and the thinnest high-tech progressive lenses. SEIKO progressive lenses are robust and attractive, even with high prescriptions. SEIKO manufactures different types of progressive lenses that stand out in terms of technology, quality and attributes.
SEIKO has a variety of patented designs suitable for every lifestyle that are individually crafted to the patients exact prescription. They aim to produce eyewear that performs the best for every individual through industry-leading technology, design and quality.

The first signs that a person needs progressive lenses usually start appearing around the age of 40. Presbyopia is a condition when people experience blurred near vision while reading or working at the computer.
SEIKO progressive lenses help the eyes regain balance with individual vision – optimum near and far vision. Here are some of the features of SEIKO progressive lenses:
- Harmonious vision without sway
- Smooth intermediate zones between near and far
- Excellent looks owing to the thin and lightweight lenses
Main features of SEIKO progressive lenses
All SEIKO progressive lenses have these 5 core technologies:
- (1) Inner surface free-form
- (2) Multi-division aspherical design
- (3) Progressive prism variation
- (4) Linear progression of power
- (5) Vertical prism control

(1) Inner surface free-form
Optimised curves are applied to the inner surface, reducing the lens profile. Inner surface free-form technology provides wider field of view.

(2) Multi-division aspherical design
Multi-division aspherical (MDA) design is based on a SEIKO patent. MDA divides the lens in thousands of sections. It designs each section as a separate lens, then it optimises each section. MDA gives wider field of view and a much sharper image as the eye moves through the lens.

(3) Progressive prism variation
Progressive prism variation (PPV) is a technology owned by SEIKO. PPV makes it more natural to move the eyes up and down, as the wearer looks at different distances. PPV reduces the side blur from unwanted astigmatic distortion, giving again a wider field of view at all distances.

(4) Linear progression of power
Ordinary progressive lenses use non-linear progression, resulting in image jump and discomfort. SEIKO progressive lenses use linear progression, with stabilised and large reading area.

(5) Vertical prism control
Vertical prism creates distortion in progressive lenses and it creates problems with adaptation. SEIKO vertical prism control reduces the actual change in prism value, and increases comfort.
